"Minstrel Man" by Langston Hughes

Many of her family members were killed during their escape from Cambodia to Thailand, and as a survivor in Thailand, she laugh with others and hide her sorrow with her dead family members. But actually inside her body it is the crying soul that tortures her. Now she and her mother is in the freeland. She still remember her dead family members. That is why this poem is so touching to her.
